  • What do I earn cashback on?

    You'll get 1% cashback for purchases made in ASDA stores including ASDA Supercentre, ASDA Living and ASDA Supermarkets and all purchases from,, and all ASDA petrol stations. Other purchases at ASDA will earn 0.5%.

    You also earn 0.5% cashback on all other purchases made outside of ASDA.

  • What will I not earn cashback on?

    You will not earn any cashback on Cash Advances (including balance transfers, cash withdrawals from a cash machine, cash over the counter at a bank or cash provider, mobile phone top ups and foreign currency and travellers cheques), interest, default charges, insurance premiums and other fees and charges.

  • How much cashback can I earn?

    The amount of cashback you can earn is unlimited. Which means there is no cap on the amount of cashback you can earn. 

  • Will I get cashback on Asda Travel Money?

    No, you can’t earn cashback this way, although, unlike other credit cards, you’ll not pay a fee to buy your Asda Travel Money with your Asda Money Credit Card.

  • What if I get a refund on something I have purchased?

    You won’t get Cashback on purchases that have been refunded.

  • How do I know how much cashback I have earned?

    Any cashback you earn will be credited to your account the following month. You can view this online and on your monthly statement. Your Online Account will also be updated every 24 hours so you can view your most up to date cashback total.

  • Why is all my cashback not showing on my statement?

    To view your most up to date cashback total please go to your Online Account which is updated within 24 hours.

  • What happens if I close my account?

    Cashback is paid monthly, so to ensure you receive what you have earned, you shouldn't close your account until you have received your statement and the Cashback has been added.  If your account is suspended then you will not earn cashback.

  • How will I get my cashback?

    Cashback will be credited to your account balance every month and cannot be redeemable through cash or cheques.

  • When am I paid my cashback?

    The cashback earned will be credited to your account balance every month.

  • Can I get my cashback as cash or a cheque?

    You cannot get the cashback as cash or a cheque.

  • What happens to my cashback if I miss a payment?

    Cashback may be suspended or not earned if you miss an account payment.

  • Can I use my cashback to pay my minimum payment?

    No, cashback cannot be used to pay your minimum payment or any payments on your account.

  • Will I get cashback on Cash Advances?

    No, cashback is not earned on Cash Advances.

  • Will I get cashback on Balance Transfers?

    No, cashback is not earned on Balance Transfers.

  • Will I get cashback on utility bills?

    No, cashback is not earned on Utility Bills.

Balance Transfers

  • How many days do I have to transfer a balance?

    90 days from account opening.

  • What happens to my 0% Balance Transfer offer if I miss a payment?

    If you miss a payment you will be taken off the 0% Interest free promotional rate and you will start being charged interest on your account at your standard rate. Promotional rate may be lost if at least the monthly repayments are not made on time or credit limit is exceeded.

  • Why am I being charged interested on a 0% Balance Transfer?

    You will not be charged interest on 0% Balance Transfers.  You will be charged interest on any remaining balances from standard purchases.  So if your balance is a combination of purchases and 0% Balance Transfers you only pay the interest on purchases. You will lose 0% if you do not pay on time.

    Promotional rate may be lost if at least the monthly repayments are not made on time or credit limit is exceeded.

  • What are contactless payments?

    It's like having the exact change wherever you go. Just a simple tap of your card is all it takes to pay at the checkout for items under £30, and you don’t need to enter your PIN each time.

  • What do I have to do to make a contactless transaction?

    To get started, you just need to make one standard transaction using Chip and PIN first. Then you'll be able to pay any amount up to £30 wherever you see the contactless symbol, just by holding your card over the terminal.

  • What happens if I spend over £30?

    There’s nothing to worry about, if your shopping comes to more than £30 you’ll simply be asked to enter your PIN into the machine as you usually would.

  • Where can I use Contactless?

    You can use contactless in over 300,000 locations across the UK – and the number is growing all the time. Use contactless payment in food and coffee shops, pubs, post offices and supermarkets, as well as London buses. To find shops and service near you that accept contactless, visit and key in your postcode.

    You can also now make contactless payments in over a million places in Europe alone, plus the United States, Canada, Australia and many more countries worldwide. Just look for the contactless symbol on the card reader.

  • How safe is Contactless compared with Chip and PIN?

    Contactless payments offer the same security you’re used to with Chip and PIN so although there’s no need to enter your PIN every time, you may be asked occasionally.

  • How can I use my Card safely and securely?

    Here are some ways to help keep your Card and your details safe and secure:

    • Sign your new Card as soon as you receive it.
    • Keep your Card account number and personal identification number (PIN) in a safe place and separate from your Card.
    • Destroy copies of receipts, airline tickets, travel itineraries, and anything that displays your Card number.
    • Memorise your PIN.
    • You can check out unfamiliar companies before giving out your Card details by calling your local consumer protection agency.
    • Don't provide information that you're uncomfortable giving.
    • NEVER give anyone the password that you use to log on to your online account or Internet Service Provider.
    • Don't provide finanical account information unless you are paying for a purchase using that account.


  • How do I manage my account online and what can I do?

    It's simple - you just need to enter your user name and password and then you can do all kinds of useful things. Checking your balance or statements, plus recent transactions and the total amount of cashback you've earnt. You can also set up Direct Debits, make payments and transfer balances. You can even add an extra cardholder to your account, and you can do it all easily and securely.

  • I've not been accepted for a card. Can I learn more about my credit rating?

    You can with Asda. You can get your free credit report which is free for life, not just 30 days. It will tell you your current credit rating as well as lots of other information that could even help you improve your credit rating over time.

MasterCard SecureCode

  • What is MasterCard® SecureCode

    Your Asda Money Credit Card is supported by MasterCard® SecureCode. A private code gives added protection against unauthorised use of your card when you shop at participating online stores/retailers.

  • How does MasterCard® SecureCode work?

    Once you've registered and created your own private SecureCode, you will be automatically prompted by your card issuer to type in your SecureCode each time you make a purchase at participating online stores/retailers. Then your SecureCode will be quickly confirmed by your card issuer to complete your purchase. Your SecureCode will ever be shared with the store/retailer and using it is as easy as entering your PIN at a cash machine.

  • How does MasterCard® SecureCode protect me?

    Correctly entering your SecureCode during a purchase at a participating online store/retailer confirms that you are the authorised cardholder. If an incorrect SecureCode is entered, the purchase will not be completed. Even if someone knows your credit or debit card number, the purchase can't be completed without your SecureCode at a participating store/retailer.

  • What are the system requirements for MasterCard® SecureCode?

    MasterCard® SecureCode works with most browsers. Please be aware that software which prevents pop-up windows may interfere with your use of SecureCode.

  • How do I know whether an online seller participates in SecureCode?

    Most participating stores/retailers will display the MasterCard® SecureCode logo on their site. However, even if you don't see the SecureCode logo, the merchant may still offer SecureCode protection and you will be prompted to provide your SecureCode.

  • How will the online store know that I'm registered for MasterCard® SecureCode?

    When you use a card that is protected with MasterCard® SecureCode, the store/retailer automatically recognises your card number during the transaction.

  • What happens when I use my SecureCode at a participating merchant?

    There's no need to log-in or sign-in. When you make a purchase at a participating store/retailer and enter your registered MasterCard payment details, you will automatically be prompted by your card issuer to enter your SecureCode. After reviewing the details of your purchase and confirming that your Personal Greeting is correct, simply type in the SecureCode to complete your purchase.

  • What is a Personal Greeting?

    The Personal Greeting is a message that you create during sign-up. Each time you make an online purchase at a participating store/retailer, you will be prompted to enter your SecureCode. At this time, you'll see your Personal Greeting and other purchase details. The Personal Greeting is your assurance that you communicating to your card issuer. If the Personal Greeting displayed in the pop-up box is incorrect, you should not enter your SecureCode, but should instead contact Customer Service immediately by calling the phone number on the back of your Card, to report a possible fraud.

  • How will SecureCode change the online purchase process?

    The online purchase process will not change except that now you will be prompted to provide your SecureCode at the checkout. Your SecureCode will never be revealed to the store/retailer.

  • Will I be able to buy online at sites that accept my Card but don't offer the MasterCard® SecureCode facility?

    Yes, you will not be asked for your SecureCode during these purchases.
