• Changes to your Asda credit card

    Who is Creation?

    Creation is the provider of your Asda Cashback Credit Card account.

    Why have I been contacted by Creation and Asda?

    We are writing to let to you know about some important changes to your Asda Cashback Credit Card account.

    Why is my account changing?

    Creation has agreed with Asda to end the relationship, so will no longer be issuing Asda Cashback Credit Cards and the current scheme will end. It is a permanent change that will affect all Asda Credit cardholders.

    What are the changes to my account?

    We’ve sent all the details you’ll need about these changes through the post, along with some information to answer any questions you may have.

    Will my existing Asda card continue to work?

    Your existing Asda card will continue to work for now. For further information please see the Notice of Variation sent to you in the post.

    Will I keep earning cashback?

    Yes you will earn cashback on purchases until 13th July 2020.  You will then have until 12th September 2020 to create your cashback voucher.

    Does this change affect the Cashback I’ve already earned?

    Yes, you will need to create a voucher for your Cashback before 12th September 2020. You will then have 28 days to redeem that voucher in Asda stores or online at George.com. Any Cashback not redeemed will be lost.

    How do I redeem my Cashback?

    To create a voucher for any Cashback you’ve earned, login to your account and create your voucher to use in Asda stores or online at George.com.

    What happens if my account is closed?

    You will no longer be able to use your Credit Card but you will still need to make at least the minimum payment until your balance has been repaid in full. Making only the minimum payment will mean it will take longer and cost you more to pay off your outstanding balance. Any cashback not redeemed will be lost.

    Is there a new Asda Credit Card?

    We are working hard to get a new Asda Credit Card live as soon as possible. Please check back on our website for the latest updates.

    What will happen if I do not want a Creation Card?

    If you do not want a Creation Card, your account will be closed and you will be unable to use your Asda Cashback Credit Card after 13th July 2020.

    Will I get a new card?

    If you choose to be transferred to a Creation Card you will receive a new Creation Card by 31st  August 2020. 

    What if I still have questions about my credit card?

  • Can I choose the date on which I wish to pay my bill?

    Yes, you can choose from any date between the 1st and 28th of the month. You can do this by sending us an email through your Online Account Manager or by calling our Customer Services Team once you’ve been accepted.

  • Can I use my card online?

    Yes, just look out for the Mastercard name or logo in the payment options.

  • Can I withdraw cash using my card?

    On most cards, you can withdraw cash from any ATM that displays the Mastercard sign both in the UK and abroad (subject to your available cash limit). Asda Cashback Start Credit Card customers aren’t initially given a cash limit to be used for cash withdrawals, but this is reviewed over time. If a cash limit is provided the limit is reviewed from time to time. Interest is payable from the date of the transaction until the cash withdrawn is paid in full.  Please see the Terms and Conditions for the charges payable. The cash machine may also charge a fee.

  • Does the card have a monthly fee?

    The Asda Cashback Credit Card and Asda Cashback Start Credit Card do not have a monthly fee.

  • How do I make payments on my card account?

    The quickest way to make a payment to us is using the Online Account Manager or through your bank’s telephone or internet banking. You can also make payments to us over the phone, by bank giro or by cheque. There are more details of how to do this in the Online Account Manager and on your monthly statement.

  • How long will it be before I am charged interest on purchases?

    Depending on your statement date and when you make your purchase, you can have up to 50 days without paying interest if you make the monthly payment in full and on time each month.

  • How will I know how much I owe?

    You can choose to receive paper statements through the post or eStatements via your Online Account Manager every month. Your statement will detail the transactions you've made on your card, along with any other transactions, and when your bill is due to be paid. You’ll also be able to receive weekly account updates via SMS, which can be set up using the Online Account Manager.

  • What happens if I don't pay my account in full each month?

    After making the minimum repayment on your account, it is up to you to decide on how much more to pay. Any balance that's unpaid will be carried forward and will show on next month's statement along with any interest that's accrued. If you only make the minimum payment each month it will cost you more.

  • What is the minimum monthly payment I need to make?

    You must pay either the minimum monthly payment equal to 1% of the Principal amount owing as shown on your Statement along with any outstanding Interest, charges and fees, or £5, whichever is the greater, within 20 days of the Statement Date. You can pay us more than the minimum if you want but if your Outstanding Balance is less than £5 you must pay your Outstanding Balance in full.

  • What should I do if I lose my card?

    Call 0800 783 5881 immediately from the UK or +44 121 712 5522 from abroad.

  • Where can I use my card?

    You can use your card in over 34 million locations Worldwide, anywhere you see the Mastercard sign.

  • How do I use my cashback vouchers?

    You can spend your vouchers in any Asda store or online at George.com.  Please log in to your Online Account Manager for more detailed information on how to create the vouchers and any other voucher queries.

  • Is there a fee for making a Balance Transfer?

    A fee of 3% or £3 (whichever is greater) will be charged in respect of each Balance Transfer.
    We may offer you a promotional Balance Transfer rate and tell you at the same time the fee which will apply to that Balance Transfer. The fee will depend on the individual terms of the specific offer.

  • What is the interest rate for a Balance Transfer?

    If you take advantage of any promotional offers, you will be charged the promotional interest on that Balance Transfer for the stated period.

    Once the stated period has ended, the remaining balance will be subject to your standard rate.

    We may offer you a promotional Balance Transfer rate and tell you at the same time the fee which will apply to that Balance Transfer. The fee will depend on the individual terms of the specific offer.
    To keep any promotional Balance Transfer rate, you'll need to stay within your credit limit and pay at least the minimum amount on time, or you may lose your promotional Balance Transfer rate

    Any Balance Transfers outside of the opening period or not taken with any offer will be charged interest at your standard rate.

  • How long will my balance take to transfer?

    We aim to transfer your balance within 5 to 10 working days.

  • Can I stop a Balance Transfer after it has been requested?

    No, we are not able to stop a Balance Transfer once you've let us know you want to complete it.

  • Can I transfer a balance today?

    You can transfer a balance from another credit or storecard in your name at any time, providing you have enough available credit on your Asda Credit Card. Until the transferred balance appears on your monthly statement you should continue to make payments to your other lender. Balance Transfers from existing Mastercard and storecard accounts issued by Creation Financial Services Limited, and Mastercard accounts originally issued by Sygma Bank UK, are not permitted.

  • How much balance can I transfer?

    There is a limit to the amount that can be transferred at a promotional rate. The minimum amount is £50. The maximum amount is up to 90% of your credit limit. For example, if you have a credit limit of £1,000 and your current balance is £500, you can transfer £400. However, if your current balance is £0, you can transfer £900.

  • How much will I have to repay each month for a Balance Transfer?

    Your monthly statement will tell you the minimum amount you need to pay and the date that payment is due. The minimum payment is 1% of your outstanding balance, plus any interest added to the account, plus any fees or charges. You can then choose to pay either this amount – or more if you prefer. We will allocate your payments to pay balances relating to higher interest rates first. Where fees and charges are payable your payment will be allocated to the interest rate applicable to these fees and charges, again relating to the higher interest rate first. Please remember that our promotional offers all have end dates, so to benefit from a specific rate make sure you apply before the offer end date.

  • What are the fees for a cash withdrawal?

    If you withdraw money with your credit card, you will be charged 3% or £5 (whichever is greater). A higher interest of 2.071% monthly rate (27.90% annual rate) will be applicable on the amount withdrawn. Interest will be charged at the rate from the date of the transactions until it is paid in full.
